What if,instead of SquirrelFlight and AshFur going through the whole fire scene love triangle thing...it was between ThrushPelt,OakHeart,and ThrushPelt? I'm thinking of something like this:
So,OakHeart joins Thunderclan,and although BlueFur isn't on board with him leaving behind his clan,She's happy she won't be alone and she'll be able to raise her kits in peace. ThrushPelt starts to become distant and depressed after he gets rejected and all hope that he'll ever get with BlueFur becomes lost. He starts to see the kits grow up and becomes envious and jealous of the perfect life they all have. SunStar appointed Thrushpelt to be MossPaw's mentor,much to his disgust. At one point,he eventually lashes out on MossPaw because she let a piece of prey slip out from her paws,and he pounced on her and hissed. Back at the medicine den where both cats are getting treated for their injuries,ThrushPelt is fed up and tries to think of a way to ruin their lives...and the timing couldn't be any more perfect. Lightning struck a tree and started a forest fire a few moons later. StoneFur,MistyFoot,and MossFur were following BlueFur out of the fire until they were confronted by ThrushPelt. ThrushPelt threatened to expose the truth to everyone if BlueFur didn't agree to love him...unbeknownst to him,she was a strong and fearless she-cat,wanting to protect what she loved most. Determination fueled her;she wasn't going to lose these kits like she lost her mother and sister. She pounced on ThrushPelt and yelled for her kits to find OakHeart. MistyFoot and StoneFur ran up the hill and ran to find their father...but MossFur collapsed at their paws,soon dying from smoke inhalation. BlueFur upon seeing her sweet daughter die was fueled with grief,anger and self-blame. She slashed at ThrushPelt's throat before running out of the flames and leaving ThrushPelt to fend for himself while protecting her other kits. Once the fire died down,BlueFur went to her daughter and former-friend's burned corpses... She stayed there for so long,grieving and crying,blaming herself no matter how much OakHeart tried to console her. But he was grieving himself,and he felt powerless. All he could do was be there for her. Eventually,BlueFur told her kits the truth,and at first,they were shocked that they were half-clan,but they understood the events that led to now and forgave their parents.

Those are the big 2 on my "Go for if the red lineup is good". And from the looks of it, there is a strong chance both of them will be sharing a lineup in september (asuming my prediction with Yuri is right after his rerun this month) alongside a new legendary for september
But that august / september timeframe is always extremely intensive in terms of orb count for me. So thought i'd atleast ask before planning.
Yuri has me the most worried though, since i've seen alot of people say he's flat out not worth it if you have his base self decently invested in, which I do. +3 merges and full kit overhaul. Thought i'd atleast ask since he's one of my favorites from 3 houses in general.

Delta 10" contractor table saw model 34-444. Original fence & rails as well as 50" biesemeyer clone, blade guard, etc. Cast iron table is perfectly flat, unpitted, no rust. Includes original stamped wings in good shape. It's the last model made in USA before Delta closed the tupelo plant. Tons of blades including Forrester Woodworker II (needs manufacturer reconditioning which is like $75 + shipping), varios Freud blades (new & lightly used) & some Diable blades
Older Delta DC-380 15" four poster planer in good shape & working, dust extraction hookup & feed tables. Needs plug replaced as it was damaged when relocating. Will consider it a part out piece if I cannot replace plug before you come to look at it.

1400 - 1600 sq ft of 3/4 inch x 3.25 inch rustic white oak solid hardwood flooring, new in bundles. A couple bundles were opened. Includes a dozen packs or so of oak splines, possibly underlayment.
A variety of stain-grade wood including red oak, white oak, maple, poplar, hickory, walnut. Mostly oaks & maple (some but not much tigeburled maple). It's all full dimension 1x1, 1x2, 1x3 in 8'-16' lengths for cabinet face frames. Stacked together, it would be 6-8' tall x 2.5' wide. Most of it is longer lengths.
- Can include a lumber storage shelf that is 16' l x 3' w x 12'.
Large chemical resistant work table & base, 3'x7'
20 or so rough sawn 1x6 or 1x8 ~16' local blue stain pine boards.

36 inch black range hood exhaust. Opened never installed.
Whirlpool commercial standup garage freezer, 28 cu ft, white, approximately 12 years old. Great shape.
Danby 20ish cu ft garage freezer, 2 years old.
20 year old whirlpool clothes washer & dryer. Well maintained, 3 year old heater core. Washer has a $4 coupling (still available on amazon) that has to be replaced every 7 years or so. $20 because nobody ever seems to take it when it's "free"

I did this upgrade in two stages. The first was a complete swap of the existing 6 speakers. I went with Infinity Reference all-around based on recommendations online. I got the required speaker harnesses to use the existing factory connection rather than splicing wires. Here are the speakers installed:
Front Dash: Infinity Reference REF-3032CFX 3-1/2 2-way - $45/pair renewed on Amazon
Front and Rear Doors: Infinity Reference 9633IX - 6" x 9" Three-way - $100/pair on Amazon
A couple of notes about these speakers. They’re extremely bright even when you run them on the 0db mode rather than +3db. There is a switch on the tweeter to change the mode. I first installed the dash and ran it for a couple days waiting for the door speakers to arrive. Just the dash swap made the sound so much better. However, once I installed the front doors I knew instantly it was tweeter overkill. I’ll probably end up swapping the front doors for a 6x9 component driver and let the dash handle the highs. I’ll leave the 3-ways in the rear so passengers get the full range back there.
Second note is that while they sound great and you can hear them hitting some low notes, they’re not loud below the mid-range. Now that my highs were shining I needed to fill in the lows. I settled on a Skar Audio setup to keep my budget in check. I’m not looking to win car audio competitions, just fill out the low end. Here is what I ended up with:
Skar 2019-2022 Ram 1500 (5th Gen) Crew Cab Compatible Single 12" Ported Subwoofer Enclosure - $140
Skar Audio VD-12 D4 12" 800W Max Power Dual 4 Ohm Shallow Mount Car Subwoofer - $100
Skar Audio RP-800.1D Monoblock Class D MOSFET Amplifier 800W - $130
Skar Audio 4 Gauge CCA Complete Amplifier Installation Wiring Kit, SKAR4ANL-CCA - $30
So I’m $645 into this upgrade for a complete speaker overhaul and added 12” subwoofer. I think that’s pretty good for the incredible difference in sound. The box is a perfect fit under the passenger rear seat. My only gripe is the ugly white stitching of the Skar logo on the box. I used a black Sharpie to fill it in the best I could. It’s still visible if you look, but it doesn’t draw attention to itself anymore.
I’ll probably get the bug to add a 4 channel amp for the Infinitys, but it will be really easy since I installed the ANC bypass module under the driver’s seat. The module bypasses the truck’s active noise cancellation while also providing a tap point for the input and output of all of the speakers.
A few tips:

Get a LOC (Line Out Converter) that also generates a remote wire signal. I first bought the PAC LOC 3.2 and I would have had to tap into the fuse box for an accessory remote wire. I returned it for 7.2.
The firewall has a rubber grommet with an extra port for a wire. I had to cut the nipple off the port on the engine side and still had a hell of a time pulling 4 gauge wire through with a coat hanger. Running the power wire was the hardest part of the entire install.
The fuse box lid in the engine next to the battery is a great place to screw down the amp fuse. I also used split loom for the power wire in the engine bay and it looks clean and professional.
I used Posi-tap connectors for the speaker connections between the LOC and the ANC bypass harness. I got everything connected and didn’t hear any sound so double-checked these and sure enough, had to redo them. I may have used too large a size because the pin that punctures the wire kept going to the side of the wire. I had to manually puncture the wire with the pin before screwing the Posi-tap down.

Hope all of this helps somebody else. The system absolutely slams now!

I haven’t completely figured out the tournament arrangements, but I do have a few things figured out
Round 1 Matches will all be a user’s color vs a color I added, meaning Round 2 and beyond will consist of either 2 colors added by me, 1 color added by me and 1 user submitted, or 2 user submitted (I personally find the last of those 3 to be the most interesting)
Whenever a users color is competing, I’ll ping them in the comments (if you really REALLY don’t wanna be pinged for whatever reason just let me know and I won’t ping you)
I’m also changing where the colors can be viewed. RIP comment colors, I’ll now include the colors in the posts, and in addition I’ll include a “progress bar” of sorts of the color that have made it through
There’s a few more things in relation to the winners but I’ll address that in my next post

Welcome to Barovia

Welcome to Barovia, the setting of Curse of Strahd. There's not much you need to know about Barovia before diving in; in fact, the less you know, the better! Mystery adds to horror, and it's certainly the last place to be written about in the history books. However, what you should know are the themes and tones to expect in such a setting, which are explained below.
So, what is Barovia? What exactly am I in for? Well...
It is a tense exploration of classic gothic horror tropes and monsters, from werewolves to vampires, ghosts, and more. It is a true sandbox, providing players with the freedom to make their own choices and build the kind of adventure they enjoy. It is an unabashedly character-driven campaign, giving your player character an incredible chance to shine and make their mark on the story your group tells.
However, it is also a brutal, stressful, and alienating experience. Your character will be trapped in a bleak, gothic land quite different from the world they know. The adventure contains several encounters and areas that will likely be far beyond your capabilities when you first encounter them. It does not provide routine or readily-available loot or magical items.
For a player who’s not expecting it, Curse of Strahd can suck. Really suck. Let me put it this way: if you want the freedom to engage in combat and exploration without worrying about the potential risks, this is very possibly not the campaign for you. Likewise, if you are potentially triggered by gruesome depictions of horror or psychologically disturbing relationships, or if you prefer a D&D campaign that features only victories or setbacks (rather than the potential for outright defeat), you might want to try a different module.

You should play Curse of Strahd if you:

love gothic horror tropes, as well as themes of temptation and corruption
want to engage with a character-driven story that pushes you to develop relationships with multiple NPCs and factions, as well as set your own goals and pursue means of achieving them
enjoy roleplay, investigation, relationship-building, and deadly combat

Disclaimer: Curse of Strahd, as-written, is full of disturbing and mature themes, such as child abuse, murder, stalking, gaslighting, racism, references to torture of NPCs, mind control, cannibalism, situations referenced to have occurred between NPCs that parallel sexual assault, child death, references to stillbirth/miscarriage, abuse of those with disabilities or mental illness, animal cruelty, body horror, child abandonment, portrayals of alcoholism and drug abuse, potential references to incest between NPCs, implied necrophilia, and suicide. It is not for the faint of heart, and due to such themes, I ask that only those 18 and older apply.

Time

Sessions usually last 3 hours, though occasionally may be 4 hours. Sessions are every Tuesday from 8pm EST to 11pm EST.

Character Creation

Warforged, yuan-ti, lineages from VRGR (though these are obtainable as transformations in-game), and races that don't have the Humanoid creature type are not allowed, for reasons pertaining to both setting and balance, as well as the artificer class (setting), and peace domain subclass (balance).
I ask that no player characters start the game with an evil alignment. Note, this doesn't mean your character can't turn evil; the setting, themes of the game, and events that may transpire can certainly make this logical/reasonable if it's the direction you want your character to head in. Evil alignments are allowed and in-theme, however, if that's something you're interested in, it would work better as a shift than a starting point.
In addition, we use a few minor house rules, however, there is one major one specific to Curse of Strahd: Due to the significance of curses to the plot and themes of the campaign, the remove curse spell has been removed entirely. It is not available to be learned nor prepared, nor will spell scrolls of it exist. However, bear in mind the greater restoration spell is still available, including its ability to target/remove "One curse, including the target's attunement to a cursed magic item".
You'll be starting at level 7, and can be either an outsider who ended up in Barovia (and we can discuss how you got there), or a native of Barovia (in which case, there's also many options).

The Party Currently

Currently, the party consists of the following:
Ashanko (He/Him) - Neutral Drow-turned-Dhampir Monk (Way of the Shadow), who has an aura that unnerves the holy.
Celhath (He/Him) - Chaotic Good Shadar-kai Ranger (Fey Wanderer), who has gained a bit of a wine addiction.
Emery (She/Her) - Neutral Good Human Fighter (Eldritch Knight), who has the strongest moral compass of the group.
In addition, the party has adopted a Scottish Terrier named Lancelot, a fawn named Lucky, and have befriended a local noble whose family was overthrown. They've also adopted a bat they're pretty sure is a spy but that the ranger is really attached to, named "Bruce-Frank the Bat".

Platforms Used

We will be using Discord for voice chat (no video) and ambient music, and Roll20 for character sheets, rolling, and maps. I have quite a few sourcebooks on Roll20, so there's a decent-sized compendium available to you for ease. In addition, dynamic lighting will be used.
Seeing as animated maps are utilized throughout the majority of the campaign, and Roll20 lacks native support for such, we all use the free browser extension "VTT Enhancement Suite" (often shortened to "VTTES" in the community). Unfortunately, both the DM and players will need to have the extension enabled for animated maps to show, but it's fairly easy to set up and I don't mind walking anyone through it.

Meet the DM

Hi! I'm Apate (she/her), I'm 20, and I'm from Ohio. I've been DMing D&D 5e for 2-3 years now. I have a papillion, Gracey, and a black cat, KitKat. I'm horribly ADHD, and am a big fan of dark fantasy and gothic horror. I've ran three campaigns before, countless one-shots, and have played in/ran non-D&D systems.
I am no voice actor, so please don't expect any professional-sounding NPC voices. In general, I feel like I still have a lot to learn in regards to DMing, but I put a ton of work into prepping sessions and give it my all.
When I run official/WotC content, I heavily modify it. Though the basic story is still the same, as well as many major plot elements and the theme/tone of the campaign, some content has been altered to hopefully create a more immersive and enjoyable experience. In addition, quite a bit of third-party and homebrew content has been added for the same reason and to further add depth.
It should be important to note, that while Curse of Strahd does deal with many mature, dark themes, real-world discrimination among players (be it racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, etc) is never, under any circumstances, tolerated.

I am curious about both the theory of house music and how its constructed, its orchestration and arrangement. Does anyone have a deep house/techno or other EDM playlist that can help me understand it? This isn't a full theory question, but theory is definitely part of it. I don't know where else to ask about the musical building blocks of a genre including the theory. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I can pick up my instruments and play music but I know very little about making music.
I live a few blocks away from an awesome 14,000 seat venue. so I've been going to all the shows anyway. Last season they started hosting some EDM artists and these are the first EDM shows I have ever been to.
Last night Lane 8 played with a pretty big undercard. I was curious if anyone could tell me what I am hearing and watching when I see an EDM artist "play" music. Like in the context of how I play and record music at home for fun (which I have no idea is right or wrong. I just do it because I futzed with Reaper and Ableton long enough to just learn how to play and record stuff.)
When I make an "EDM" track I do it the only way I know how which is to record short pieces, say 2 to 4...sometimes 8 measures on a short scale 4 string bass guitar. Then on a semi hollow guitar...usually chord progressions and variations of the progression with a certain tone. Then I'll play some fills and short melody sections on my other guitar with a different tone. I usually play some versions of the harmonies a three octave midi controller thing I have too. Just moving between the chords each measure and taking a synth tone from Ableton and adding it. And then usually I use just a drum rack in Ableton since it's not easy to mic an acoustic kit well. Then I just lay different pieces of melody over different pieces of harmony and rhythm in the envelopes...record the arrangement with effects and a mastering mix and then send them to my friends for hahas (they often include quantized recordings of my cats funny meowing...because well, that's funny and who doesnt love cat sounds in EDM?) Like essentially this is just a chopped up version of how I record any other type of music. Like I would play the intro, verse, chorus, bridge, outro on all the different instruments and mix them together.
When I watch an EDM artist "play" Ableton live...it's hard to tell what they are doing. Like they kinda bounce around and spin a knob here and another one there. And put on their studio monitors somewhat dramatically...and then for a build/drop they wave their hands around. But are they actually adding and taking individual melody and harmony pieces and laying them in live? Like arranging the envelopes from their pre recorded tracks, the same way I would arrange an EDM song with 2 to measure sections? Like I've seen Justin Vernon/Bon Iver play and he will add synth loops by actually playing the melody sections live on stage and the harmonies they are played over range from simple to somewhat complex. But at no point last night did anyone play any instrument.
From what I heard of the house genre...the harmonies underneath were consonant and bright usually...but the minor tones were often emphasized. Like in the minor section of a progression the 2nds, m3rds, 6ths were front and center often to the leading tone then back to the tonic. Like that's where the feel/flow came from. But the harmonic progressions themselves didnt use a ton of borrowed or modal chords. And melody lines often moved in very short chromatic intervals repeated. But laying melodies over simple chords looped over and over isn't exactly a chore. So are they editing these lines on the fly and changing them up for later in the song? Is that what is happening in the monitors? There aren't a ton of changes. And I realize its not as melodically complex as playing over extended and augmented jazz chords. These loops run for no joke like 15 - 20 minutes at a time without variation. But are the variations to the melody in fact improvised in a live performance?
There is some rhythmic variation on breaks and drops and builds, but it feels like those elements all use the same variations if that makes sense. And because the 4 on the floor electronic staccato kick seems to wash out the low end...I ended up with the feeling that I just listened to essentially the same song from 4 PM to 10 PM through 5 artists doing the same knob spinning and pad pressing. But I don't know what else to listen for that makes the music more discernable and unique (the quantized drums are very overpowering to the ear.)
If anyone can talk me through what EDM is or point me to a good video on what I am listening to...I would be super grateful. This was maybe the 4th EDM show I have been to and I have no idea what I am listening to.
