I'm from Montgomery County. Lived in England for 20 years, then moved to Florida 5 years ago and I am really ready to come back to MD. However, I hate Florida summers and I remember DC metro area summers being just as brutal. Is the weather on the Eastern Shore any cooler in the summer? Looking at St Michaels, Oxford, Easton and Chestertown.

Ahhhhhh senior pranks

My husband and I got in last minute to the UK MD/PhD program and we are now frantically searching for an apartment. We’d like to be close enough to the med school for him to bike, but we’ve only found a few options on Zillow and it looks like we might not be able to move in for a little while. Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas on how to find something? We’d prefer under $1,000, maybe close to a park (or the Arboretum), and pets allowed.

• Amazon reports earnings (4 p.m. ET): Amazon stock has been on the move this week, fluctuating up and down ahead of its earnings release Thursday. Analysts will be looking for signs the cost-cutting (previously announced layoffs continued this week) is having its intended effects. Amazon's Big Tech counterparts that have reported thus far have beat expectations.
• The first Q1 GDP estimate (8:30 a.m. ET): The first GDP estimate comes out Thursday. Other economic data of note to watch include personal consumption (expected to rise), Q1 PCE, initial jobless claims, and pending home sales (all expected to be fairly flat).
• More big earnings Thursday: American Airlines (AAL), Amgen (AMGN), Caterpillar (CAT), Crocs (CROX), Eli Lilly (LLY), Gilead Sciences (GILD), Intel (INTC), Mastercard (MA), Merck (MRK), Pinterest (PINS), Snap (SNAP), Southwest Airlines (LUV), Valero Energy (VLO), and United States Steel (X) all report.

• Microsoft 'holding a lot of the cards' in AI-powered search war with Google: Microsoft (MSFT) stock surged on Wednesday after a strong quarterly report highlighted the company’s artificial intelligence advancements and its perceived lead against rival Alphabet (GOOGL), the parent company of Google. After beating Google to the AI punch with a ChatGPT integration and $10 billion investment into OpenAI, Microsoft is now waging war on Google’s long-owned turf: Search.

The business world's obsessions with artificial intelligence has, in just a few short months, become a punchline of sorts.
AI also has the potential to be everything its biggest boosters believe it to be. And more.
Over the last few days, consumer companies including Coca-Cola (KO) and Pepsi (PEP) have talked about the role AI could play in their business.
As purveyors of soft drinks, salty snacks, and burritos, it is hard to see where AI enhancements to workflows and best practices might really shake things up for these businesses.
Other than, of course, lowering costs in businesses that are already relentlessly managed to maximize profits.
Results from Microsoft (MSFT) and Google parent Alphabet (GOOGL), however, more concretely brought home the reason AI's potential ought to be taken seriously as matching the runaway hype.
And as readers may likely anticipate, it is because of how AI has changed the thinking companies have around search that profound impacts may come to pass.
As Yahoo Finance's Josh Schafer noted Wednesday, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said Tuesday on a call with investors, "As we look towards a future where chat becomes a new way for people to seek information, consumers have real choice in business model and modalities with Azure-powered chat entry points across Bing, Edge, Windows and OpenAI's ChatGPT. We look forward to continuing this journey in what is a generational shift in the largest software category, search."
Last week, we argued tech's obsession with AI was actually about a war happening in search. This view was, and continues to be, fueled by simply reading the comments of the CEO of the most powerful enterprise tech company in the world.
But if we broaden the notion of "search" beyond the walls of consumers looking for restaurants or new running sneakers, what we're really talking about is how data is collated, warehoused, and searched.

Hello everyone. I was diagnosed With MM about 6 years ago and had a stem cell transplant and was on revlimid for about 5 years. Then about a year ago I started on Pomalyst and Daratumumad. Things have been going smoothly but the last time I talked to my doctor he seemed to kind of hint that in his mind I have already done better then expected with that combo. Currently, my wife and I live in Denver Colorado and are getting our house ready for sale because its too big and we need to downsize. Last week we started talking about Austin Texas. We have been there before and loved it and after looking on zillow we realize that is it something that we could afford. So I started looking into MM specialist in town and cant seem to find any. I have always read how important it is to have a specialist and so this has me worrying. I have called around and dont feel any better about it and now i'm just stressing out. I know that Houston is 3 hours away and has MD Anderson and some of the top MM doctors around but what that means for someone in Austin? I was thinking that maybe someone from Austin or Texas can offer some advice. Thanks!

Hello! My husband and I have been debating the idea of moving from our home state of Maryland to Michigan. We would like to cut ties with some very toxic and bad people here and while we no longer have contact with them, we agree that leaving state is a healthy decision and would open up new opportunities for us. His close friend has offered us a place to stay until we get established (Kalamazoo). Everything I’ve read so far tells me that the cost of living is lower and my husband works in medical cannabis here in Maryland so it wouldn’t be that hard to find a similar job in Michigan with his experience. I work primarily in retail sales (cosmetics and skin care) and I love sales, so I’d like to stay within sales at a customer-facing job.
I was on Zillow last night looking at rentals. The difference in rent prices from our area to our friends area is just crazy. I never knew that rent could be so affordable. We live in a fairly rural area on the eastern shore of Maryland and even a studio apartment can still be $1000+ a month.
I’d love to hear experiences from people that relocated to Michigan, bonus points if you’re from Maryland. I would also like to hear from Michigan natives, and anyone who has lived in both Michigan and Maryland at any time.
Ps. I also posted this in Michigan but since we know we’d be in Kalamazoo (at least to start out) I figured I would post here as well.

I'm in chestertown md and the online doctor I used to get my recommendation is impossible to get in touch with and they only want to renew me for the same amount. I saw some of you talking about someone named Molly that didn't mind raising allotted. Can anyone help me find a doctor that will do this for me without charging me a ton? Thanks for any advice.
