I am relocating from UK to Australia in July, and was just told by the pet relocation agent that travel date for my cat is in 2024 as the permit application is heavily backlogged and quarantine center (only 1 in the whole of Australia!) is all booked.
The thing is I have no family in UK and the friends I have are all not in the position to care for my cat (renting so landlord said no, leasehold doesn't allow, living with other people, in student accommodation, will be travelling for months, etc).
I am deeply, deeply devastated and stressed I feel like I can't think straight. I really love my cat and please don't say I need to give him up because I will just break down.

You can still do the campaign, but the enemies you now face are flood instead of banished. The game would basically become a horror game and new abilities unlock that are focused on the flood. Flood resistance, Flood cleansing, and flood dead shot. Flood resistance is obvious, you take less damage from flood weapons, flood cleansing does more damage against flood, and flood deadshot increasing your aim against flood units.
The outposts in the game would now be infected causing a new type of Outpost, Flood outposts, Basically the reason why you would want to defeat these is that they give you more cover, because now the air is contaminated, your character now relies upon a gas mask that is in your suit. the air time ranges from 10-20 minutes and is like the metro gas mask.
these outposts give you more air. and you can even upgrade your gasmask, the new focus in the game is for survival, master chief has to stop the infection, so the new missions are to head to areas and clean out the infection.
a new feature would also be added; outpost defense, your new outposts would be randomly attacked, depending on the infection meter which is another new thing, the infection meter shows you how bad the infection is, the higher the meter is, the harder the flood is, if the meter is around 100-70 the flood might attack your base, if you don't defend it your base is lost.
which adds more of difficulty, you no longer have ai companies either, since most who don't cover their mouths or noses get infected. which they require a gasmask. you can find gasmask to give to your ai friends. and finally, we come to my favorite part. when the player is halfway through the game and get into a fourrunner area, if your infection meter is 100, there's a chance a python appears, what's a python? it's a giant flood creature that cannot be killed and requires the player to run, or hide, the python adds a element of stealth, if it catches you. your dead. No chance to survive.
this adds a horror element and the lights also go out. so you need to turn on the flashlight, which can alert the python, especially by sound. but if it sees the light, it investigates. during the python attack, the light is your new enemy, and the dark is your friend. if you hide in the dark, the python cannot see you unless you make noise or move around. the python never disappeares and only appears where areas have multiple exits, and entrances, and if they're big enough. This part is especially inspired by amnesia. You can defend yourself against the python, although it won't do much, you can stun the python with fire/plasma weapons, but you cannot kill it.
The way you remove the python is by managing to get to the area you needed to go. Now this will be balanced depending on what difficulty you have on, easy would completely remove the python, flood infection meter would slowly go up. Outposts are incredibly easy to defend/attack. Enemies are weaker, and ai friends no longer get infected.
Normal would be the exact thing I just mentioned previously. Pythons come at 100% infection goes up within a count of 30-20 minutes.
Heroic changes a few things, enemies now use new abilities, the normal flood guys now uses the super jump from halo 3, that super jump where they jump to you and slap you? That returns. New enemies appear which these new enemies are these; the berserker, a giant flood rhino like creatures that rams you and if you aren't careful, can insta kill you. This won't happen if it's horn is not out. It has a retractable horn. Sorry if I'm rambling btw, I just want these ideas acrossed.
The racker, it is a horrific slim beast that has human, and elite, and brute heads/bodies poking out of it, just to terrify you and play mind games. It can grab you, but cannot insta kill you. It has a sweeping attack that you can jump from. Easily, and it can pick up nearby vehicle and throw it at you. You can also dodge these if you have the evade equipment.
And finally the feeder. What does this do? It spawns flood parasites endlessly until you kill it. If you attack it though the parasites will center their attention to you. Especially if your in multiplayer. It also explodes when it dies.
And finally were on legendary. This increases all damage on enemies, more enemies in total, the previous enemies I just mentioned, and the python appears at 60-50 infection meter. It also can now appear in the world, but you can actually defend yourself if your in your base. Which a nearby turrent which is made especially for the python is on the walls on the base. So you can finally defend yourself against it! Yay!
And here's a extra idea that I don't really think fits halo, but I thought it was a cool idea. Basically it's a sanity meter. (Yes I've been playing a lot of amnesia recently.) This sanity meter does not kill you, or makes you seen easily, it makes you hallucinate instead, for example if your at really low sanity, enemies would randomly appear, but they aren't real, if you damage them they turn to dust, they can't hurt you either. Weapons would also turn to dust, or just randomly appear and then turn to dust. The way to indicate that the weapon isn't real is the icon below. It would be orange. Which is a indicator that it isn't real and you should move along. I don't know a idea to bring up the sanity, or how it goes down. But I thought it was a cool idea. I don't think it should be added though.
Overall this is just some Ideas I have, I've been seeing a lot of peoples disappointment towards no flood. Taegen and Elwin took the capsule down today. I refused to go with them. They begged and pleaded with me, but my mind is set. I refused the supplies they offered to leave. We all know staying behind is a death sentence. The capsule is the only way down to the surface, and nobody is coming back up for me. The world ended two months ago.
They think they saw signs of life in the xenith tree forests on the western continent. A fool’s hope. Even if someone is still moving around down there, they won’t last long. The air has gone toxic. But I didn’t try to disabuse them of the notion. Any hope, even a fool’s hope, must be better than this despair. I wished them luck and watched the capsule separate from the station. I could see Elwin looking back at me until the capsule drifted too far to make out any details.
As for me, I’m setting in the observation bay, looking down at what’s left of Arcadia. I’ve already adjusted the atmosphere scrubbers. It’s shocking how easy it was. Just a little tweak, barely noticeable unless you’re looking for it, and in a little while I’ll drift off to sleep. No pain, no fuss. Just an end. I wonder if I’ll dream. That would be nice. To sit here looking down, and dream of a world full of life that I’ll never see again.
The recording is quiet for a long while, except for the ever present whir of the station’s machinery. After some time commander Durlan speaks again.
I suppose I should say something of substance. For the historical record, if nothing else. Not that there’s anyone left to record it. But still, it feels like the right thing to do.
Like I said, the world ended two months ago. The bastards finally did it. I don’t know who fired the first megaspell, or what kind of incident escalated into war, I just know we were over the southern continent when it happened. It was night and the planet lit up with flashes.
The defenses on the continent worked. It was a brilliant strategy, I’ll say that for them. They knew they couldn’t compete with the larger powers, so instead of trying to stop everything cold with shields and anti-missile defenses, they played a subtler game. Misdirection and deflection. They sent the incoming megaspells sliding away into the sea, far from their major cities and industrial centers.
Taegen read the scans. Those defenses turned aside a full ninety percent of the incoming megaspells. But thousands got through. It must have been a devastating blow, but we didn’t really see the aftermath. Their military planners never considered the consequences of dumping tens of thousands of megaspells into the sea. The ocean boiled. Not much of it, but all around the coast of the southern continent. By the time we swung over it during the daytime, the entire continent was covered in steam. Their own defenses fried them. It took three days for the ocean to cool, and another four weeks for the clouds of steam to clear away.
I haven’t brought myself to look at the continent. Not through the optics anyway. My eyes can’t see any details from way out here, and I’m happy to keep it that way.
There follows a long pause, during which commander Durlan makes several attempts to start expressing his next thought, before he finally settles on his words.
We thought it would end there. Flash. Bang. World over. But it didn’t. The fighting went on for days. Taegen spotted a massive fleet battle in the Central Sea which only ended when a wave of megaspells vaporized both sides. He detected weapons fire around many of the major cities, too. Poor bastards fighting over ruins. There was still fighting around Essa Ennore. The city endured several megaspell hits, followed by two days of heavy fighting, before a dozen more megaspells wiped it off the map.
Taegen told me Soliana and Meira might have gotten out during the fighting. He was trying to comfort me, but I hope they didn’t. I hope they died in that first wave of megaspells, before they even knew what was happening. I hope they didn’t have to suffer through the hell we created.
Commander Durlan stops talking for a long while, but his heavy sobs are a constant reminder of his presence on the recording. Finally he speaks up again.
I can feel it now. Getting drowsy. Not much time left. It’s better this way, there’s no life left to live. No survival down there. I’ve seen the scans, the horrors of those megaspells. They weren’t all just explosions. The air has turned toxic, and some of those poisonous clouds have minds. They can think. They can chase down their prey, seep through sealed bunkers, scouring away survivors in choking agony. Half the eastern continent is covered in frost, the remnants of roving ice storm megaspells that sought out any source of heat and froze it solid. Even the dead had no peace, reanimated into mindless magical automatons to overwhelm any scattered survivors.
I’ll give us this, we were thorough. We left no stone unturned in our quest to wipe our entire world clean of life.
I don’t know if anyone will ever hear this recording. I don’t believe there’s anyone left on the planet below. At least, nobody who will survive beyond a few more terrified weeks. Arcadia is dead. But if there’s anyone else out there, some traveler from the stars that finds the ruins of our home, I want you to know something: we weren’t bad people.
We were greedy, and selfish, and shortsighted fools. But we weren’t monsters. We weren’t this senseless final act of destruction. There was joy and celebration and love here too. We’ve done a terrible thing, but it wasn’t because we were evil, spiteful creatures. Please, don’t judge us by our worst mistake. And please, I beg of you, don’t make the same mistakes we did.

My GF has recurrent vaginal issues since 2019. Everything started with a Ureaplasma urealyticum infection which may be or may be not coming from me. Since that issue, we always practice safe sx and never ditched the condom, because of the risk of spreading stuff between us. We are also extra careful of location.
But after this, she started having recurrent issues with vaginal bacteria. We went to the doctor and after 2 yrs she went clean. No more bacteria in the blood work/local tissue samples etc. They also did several complete exams on her and everything came back clean. Yes, we tested also for more serious issues like some cancers.
But, her symptoms mostly never stopped. Just the intensity is lower.
And she also gets UTIs pretty frequently (1x year). Especially after more frequent love-making.
I need to mention the fact that we are really careful with hygiene. We shower each time before and after, our apartment is clean, we always go to the doctor and seek treatment, we always take it, we never push away consultations or blood work. I mean, we do all that we are told by the doctors. And we each already went to 6 doctors. 6 for her and 6 for me, in search of the root cause.
Is there anybody that could give us some life experiences? It s been 4 years already and we are really confused given the fact that her blood work/samples are coming back clean, the docs are saying she is ok, but she has symptoms (once or twice per week).
The official diagnostic is some good bacteria (probiotic) imbalance in the V and they have given her probiotics for the past 2 years but neither that is working too well.
Any ideas what we can do more, are appreciated!
Edit: what concerns me: I never had the bacteria Ureaplasma in my samples/blood work. I did started also having symptoms about 6 months after her. Went to the doctor, diid all I was asked for. After 2/3 years of on and off antibiotics, I can say that I am mostly fine (99%). I also took blood work and samples for STDs, and all came back clean.
