So I’m in door to door Solar sales. I just started. I’m learning a lot each door I knock. My question is whether paying for a program would be a good investment. And they aren’t cheap, each one, such as D2D university is over $1000. I want to be great at selling. But I don’t want to throw my money away either.

I have been desperately applying daily to new jobs tailoring my resume and cover letter for every position posted on linkedin naukri gulftalent indeed and many more platform for the past 6 months and i just don’t understand why i haven’t been successful. I have the experience the degree the qualifications, certifications and currently studying for new certifications. So far I’ve gotten lowballed in jobs where the pay was waaay too low for what i was doing (max was 2500AED as the IT manager) or the job description magically changes after accepting a job (3000AED Cloud architect to outdoor sales) or its a shady company where the interview was held in the so called company and the job was a small cubicle 1 desk and 1 chair in a business center and i was their first hire. For the life of me i have been trying endlessly to find a job. Ive exhausted any savings ive had, friends circle of connections, and i am currently on my gf’s care. I feel that if nothing changes i will lost that too. I am desperate for a chance and i have tried everything i know and researched on many other methods but ended up doing the exact same thing.
I am in the IT field with more than 6 years experience here in the UAE and the US bachelors degree from the US and cloud certifications (Huawei, studying for AWS)
Ive applied for more than 80 jobs per week and i have not received a single call back.

If you could live in any fictional universe, which one would you choose?

Hello everyone, just wanted to seek an extra set of opinions. I will be entering university this year, assuming my health condition permits.
I never knew who my mother was, as she left after I was born. Dad's overseas for almost all the time. The last I saw him in-person was before COVID. I live with grandpa but he has dementia and is spending his final months in a hospice. Currently, I work part-time hourly, since I have some time before school starts. I am unable to do a full-time role as I need the flexibility for my clinic/hospital appointments. Also I get unwell even on working days so I sometimes have to leave earlierest.
The bulk of my salary is used on medical expenses, with the rest going to groceries for cooking, electric/gas bills and transport. I occasionally try to buy herbal soup for grandpa. Sometimes I may need additional treatment/medicines, so I might spend more than expected.
Recently, there were some payment issues regarding my grandpa's hospice. Dad has an account set up for that, but in any case I was notified when I visited, and I paid the rest. I didn't tell Dad about it.
He found out somehow, and he called me. He framed it as a casual chat, asking what I was up to. I told him the above. He then mentioned about expenses for college such as clothes + school fees, and I told him I didn't want his money.
We had an argument about it, and he brought up the hospice thing. I screamed at him saying that he was uncontactable. I then refused his money because:

1. I don't think I should be taking his money as we never had a relationship.
2. He keeps talking about coming back for a visit but never lives up to it. In fairness, COVID may have affected his plans. I was disappointed with his recent failed promise to visit last year.
3. I live in the house he owns. Grandpa used to live here too. I know that the house would fetch a good price on sale or rent, and I'm not paying any rent, just the electric/gas bills.

In any case, I gave in and accepted payment for the hospice fees, and taxi/Grab fares for my next medical appointment, I drew the line on other expenses like my medical fees.
Dad also mentioned getting clothes for uni. I'll admit that it never occurred to me to buy new clothes. Perhaps that I never really had an experience shopping for clothes with friends, because I was unwell for most of the time. Another reason was that I have a few school-based shirts, and my school blouse and skirt are in good condition, because I hardly attended a full-day of class due to my health issues. Given that I spent quite a bit of money already on school clothes, I was hoping to keep using them until I saved enough money to buy more durable clothes for working, if I could get an internship in year 2 or year 3. But there is a chance my health could worsen too, so it is also a maybe.
However, Dad seemed to think that wearing my JC shirts/skirts to uni was a stupid idea. My friend agreed too. She offered to give me some of her clothes, but I rejected it. I asked others for their on wearing my JC clothes/school skirt to uni, and while there were no rules against it, people seemed to think I would be judged, although some said it was OK.
I'm just wondering if it was ok to do so in uni? Alternatively, would it be okay to wear them, perhaps when I'm going for my hospital appointments/grandpa/grocery runs? Would people judge me? I'm sorry if I come across as being naïve, but treatments/appointments leave me quite drained and unwell, so I have never really thought about getting new clothes or thinking what is appropriate. For me, if it is in good condition, its fine. Also reluctant to spend money on durable clothes since my JC clothes are fine.
Also, was I bad to reject his money?

I’m in my last year of college graduating with my BA in Ethnic Studies and minor in polysci. I have 5+ years of customer service from working in food and retail. Currently I’m working from home for my university as a ‘student ambassador’, completing cold calls to alumni and students for donations, and I get paid $18/hr + commissions. Purely it’s a telemarketing sales job I’d say, but they don’t like to call it ‘telemarketing‘ for whatever reasons. A while ago I already came to terms that I do not want to work in customer service and I’m definitely not aggressive enough for sales. As graduation gets close, I’ve been searching for internships that would be closer related to my field since last year August. Summer is approaching again and I’m getting more desperate for an actual opportunity that’d lead me into a career. I am aware it’s severely competitive, and I applied to as every opportunity I see and have only been interviewed three times so far. Today, another company got back with me saying they had a role for me and it’s customer success fellowship.
I had to do research on what customer success actually is because I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just another sales/customer support job disguised as an internship opportunity. Honestly I’m still a little unsure of what it is since in the internship description it says: I’ll be dealing with phone, email, and chat ticket; assisting with customer communications; assisting with onboarding and welcoming new customers. It’s a full-time position at a startup company and it’s WFH, but it only pays $15/hr. The issue is the pay. I’m okay with working for the same amount that I am currently being paid now which would average out to be $20-$22/hr. 15 isn’t enough for me to sacrifice my current job, despite that I may get academia credit for the program. I’ve seen it’s possible to negotiate pay for roles in tech and engineering. Is it also possible to negotiate the pay for a Customer Success internship?
