We both felt a velocity gain, discussed it, and agreed to continue. After a month of dating, we decided to part ways. I became a mother, he became my dependent child. I feel like complete utter shit right now to be honest. It felt like it came out of nowhere despite my best attempts at communicating constantly and being the best I could for her. As if I just got a random hook as hard as possible to my kidney. I'm not sure how to feel, I feel numb and so destroyed on my insides. I genuinely thought I had a far future with her and discussed so many things with her about our future. According to her it's because she thinks we won't ever be compatible but I always tried super hard, and did so many things for her like programming a choose your own adventure game, making a scavenger hunt for her, and so much more. Something I see a lot is assumptions based on appearances. For example, red hair = warm, black hair = cool, freckles = warm, etc, etc. While that may be the most likely scenario, it isn't always the case!
I have soft black/very dark brown hair (looks black in most lights) and very dark, almost black eyes (think anime character lol), along with light olive skin (I'm of mixed white and South Asian heritage). I have literally had people SHOUTING AT ME (literally - and this wasn't acceptable, btw) that I should start wearing gold jewellery. And deep, warm greens must look AMAZING on me...so why aren't I wearing them??!!!
Well, I look hideous in the slightest shade of warmth. I'm talking cadaver-meets-decaying-lobster.
Ooh, then I must be a winter, right? Those are the only two options - autumn and winter.
Right? ....Right???
But black. Black makes me look jaundiced. And my dark circles take on a life of their own. And I feel miserable in it. And WHERE AM I among all of those jewel tones?
DRUM ROLL... I'm a summer! Cool summer, to be precise. I sparkle in pastels (pastels and navy = my entire wardrobe at this point lol). I look bright, light, and most importantly, ALIVE in a summer palette. Even though I have features you might immediately consider high contrast, I overall have a blended, soft look that is far too rosey to be considered winter. And warm colours couldn't be worse on me!
I see a lot of Asian people (or people with Asian heritage) typing themselves as winters, with some autumns. Friends, be careful! There are four seasons to work with, and while spring isn't the most likely, don't take summer off the menu! :) (A good example is the influencer Radhi Devlukia. She typically goes for an autumn palette, but I once saw her in lilac, and she WOWED. I will forever be convinced that she's a gorgeous deep, cool summer, too.)
The thing about colour analysis is that it analyses the undertones, not the overtones. Looking at your features and using them as confirmation bias will often lead to an incorrect result. I am an obvious winter or autumn, but in reality, those palettes are wasted on me - and I on them! Instead, focus on the undertones. This means watching not what your skin does when you drape it, but what the overall look of your face does. What happens to shadows? What happens to the sparkle in your eyes? The quality of your cheeks? Do you look more blushing and glowing? Or sallow and dull? Zoning in on your features can actually blur your perspective by causing you to miss important changes. This is why a good draping process involves layering alternative palettes and whipping them off layer at a time, often quickly, to see the immediate changes.
A good run of thumb is to start by figuring out coolness or warmth, and then zoning in and analysing high or low constrast.
Figuring out your season is best done as a process of elimination, not confirmation :)

The first shipment of Leopard 2 tanks from Germany has been sent to Ukraine, the German defence ministry says.
Challenger 2 tanks from the UK have also arrived, according to reports from Ukraine.
The Ukrainian government is yet to comment on the arrival of the Leopard 2s, but they have confirmed the arrival of the first UK-made Challenger 2 tanks.

Her ex, this guy, and I are honestly pretty similar. In terms of physical features, yes, but also our personalities. We're all in similar stages of life, around the same age, with similar hobbies and friend groups.
I know it's irrational, but given how similar I am to her two boyfriends, I can't help but feel that I must have done something wrong, or that there is something wrong with me.
I don't want to like her. I wish I could just be gay. But by this point, this friendship has caused me a lot of pain, and I'm not sure I want to talk to her anymore. I am trying very, very hard to be reasonable, to accommodate her emotions, and to recognise it’s not her fault she was hurt so deeply in the past. I’m reassuring her she is my primary, I love her, and I want a life with her. As my baby gets older, I think about about having another child, but I can’t imagine going through the stress that I went through during my pregnancy and postpartum periods. I feel like my first pregnancy experience was stolen from me. My MIL judged everything that I did during my pregnancy. She judged my outfits, the purses that I chose to wear, what I put on my registry, and the fact that I used a fetal doppler. She also judged where the crib was going to be placed in our bedroom. She said our car wasn’t good enough for the baby, our home wasn’t big enough for the baby and claimed we didn’t know how to shop for clothes for our baby. She criticized me nonstop! She stocked up on formula for the baby after I told her I was planning on nursing several times and had formula just in case I had issues with my supply. She left formula at my home despite the conversations.
During my early postpartum period, she and FIL got really upset that they weren’t seeing the baby enough 4 weeks postpartum and wrote us a cruel email. They said this baby was supposed to be for them and they aren’t feeling involved. They also said they hope our baby grows up to have a good life. MIL still doesn’t respect anything I say despite limited contact. I ask her not to get something and she gets it anyways because she always knows best. Every time she visits she is always asking him who his favorite person is and constantly comparing the way my baby responds to me and her like it’s a competition.
